South Africa House houses elaborate library, archive and image collections; a cultural heritage about the relationship between the Netherlands and South Africa from 1880 onwards. The archives collection consists of a little over 100 archives which have been collected and stored on the premises of the South Africa House since 1923. During 2014 and 2015 the South Africa House has undergone major renovation. During the renovation, the collection's archives were also "restored" to be well preserved and accessible.
Currently we are working hard on an online environment in which the library, the archives, the map collection and the image library at the same time are searchable for the users. The collection of archives is already accessible and searchable via collecties.zuidafrikahuis.nl.
