In januari en februari 2025 verblijft A.J. Opperman in het appartement boven het Zuid-Afrikahuis!
A.J. Opperman is an arts and entertainment journalist at Netwerk24 and lives in Johannesburg. He was born in Cradock in the Eastern Cape and grew up on a farm in the district. He matriculated at Cradock High School and completed an honors degree in journalism at the University of Stellenbosch.
In 2013 he received a Pica award as profile writer in the magazine section and recently received an Afrikaans prize, Order van die beiteltjie, for his work as an arts journalist. His previous positions were at Rapport and the SABC’s Afrikaans television news.
He contributes inserts for the program Skrywers en Boeke on RSG and has served on theatre panels at arts festivals. Since March 2014 he has been working at Media24. Theatre, literature, television and radio are the beats he likes to write about the most.
